2004 Primary Election Voter Turnout

The following chart reports on votes cast in the 2004 presidential primaries and caucuses. A few notes on the data:
-All results are from The Green Papers except the caucus results from the District of Columbia, which is from George Washington University
-The voting age population is from estimates by the U.S. Census
-The voter turnout percentage refers to the percentage of the adult population that voted in one of the major party primaries and caucuses. Not all adults are able to vote, but this standard is often used for comparative purposes to other nations and other eras.
-"Cancelled" means that a scheduled primary was cancelled.
-"CC" means delegates were selected in a closed committee; i.e., there was no voter turnout.
-Blank cells indicate the primary has not been held yet.
