League of Women Voters
Demonstration Election
June 2004
At the annual League of Women Voters Convention, CVD conducted a
demonstration election to show the benefits of alternative voting systems like Instant
Runoff Voting and Choice
Voting. Voters cast ballots to elect the most
influential woman. CVD then used two different counting methods to elect
the winner. In the IRV
count, Eleanor Roosevelt came out on top, followed by Susan B.
Anthony. In the choice count, the top three women elected were Eleanor
Roosevelt, Susan B. Anthony and Margaret Sanger. For
