  • Center for Governmental Studies: A non-partisan group that identifies governance, social and economic problems, conducts in-depth studies, and proposes solutions. General fields of work are political reform, media and democracy, and sustainable democratic communities.
  • Center for Responsive Politics is a non-profit, non-partisan research organization that specializes in the role that money plays in politics. The Center's National Library on Money and Politics provides research assistance, and the Center has a monthly newsletter and other publications. 

  • Citizens in Charge: advocates of the initiative and referendum process.
    Common Cause   This citizen watchdog group promotes open and accountable government.  Its site includes reports on the group's projects, action alerts, and an interactive database of political action committee and "soft" money recipients.
  • Declaration of Independence Roadtrip: a voter awareness  program in which the Center is a partner, check their website for more information and to find out when the tour is coming to your state.
  • DemoChoice.org This website allows you to vote in some sample preference voting polls, view nice graphs of the results, and even create your own poll.
  • Democracy 2000  A reform organization with many useful links.

  • Democracy Matters  Informs and engages college students and communities in the issue of money in politics and the promise of campaign finance reform.
  • Democracy Unbound  "Democracy Unbound: Progressive Challenges to the Two Party System" provides an activist's guide to third party organizing and progressive politics today.

  • EGO Electoral Governance Network  Promotes communication and exchange within the research community as well as between scholars and practitioners in the field of electoral governance. Also provides an online international bibliography  onelectoral governance.

  • Electme.com  Compiles information on candidates, so voters are able to make an informed decision when they go to the polls. 
  • Equal Rights Advocates  Based in San Francisco, this is a women's law center "dedicated to guaranteeing women equal opportunity."

  • Fusion in the United States: New Majority Education Fund's page on where fusion is legal and illegal in the United States. Fusion allows more than one party to nominate the same candidate for an office.
  • Fix Our United States:  Musician Krist Novoselic's website committed to exploring Proportional Representation as a remedy to our current broken electoral system.
  • Independent Progressive Politics Network  "Building a unified, independent, progressive alternative to the corporate-controlled, Democrat/Republican political/economic system." 
  • Initiative and Referendum Institute  Is a non-profit non partisan research and educational organization dedicated to the promotion, protection and expansion of the initiative and referendum process in America.
  • International Voter Turnout  From IDEA, a comprehensive collection of international voter participation statistics.  Includes a global survey and in-depth information by country.
  • Justice Talking: The Pitfalls and Possibilities with Online Elections  National Public Radio show discussing the benefits, drawbacks, and legality of Internet voting.  Originally aired September 18, 2000.
  • Kids Voting  Provides curriculum and support for teachers and a united effort of families, educators, and volunteers to encourage students to become informed on the subject of voting.

  • New Democracy Candidate Election Methods:  A web site devoted to exploring and innoviating on alternative voting systems.

  • New Party  A progressive political organization working for "the return of power to the people."

  • National City Government Resource Center  This is as a collection of city-related web sites from throughout the United States. 
  • National Civic League  This website hosts information about National Civic League's programs, publications and membership. 
  • National Voting Rights Institute  Through litigation and public education, the Institute aims to redefine the issue of private money in public elections as the nation's newest voting rights barrier.
  • Natural Law Party  This site explains the Party's position on several political issues.

  • The Reform Party of the United States of America  The site presents the party platform, state-by-state registration information, and party news updates in an easily accessible way.  
  • Reform America, Inc. is developing its website "to show the country that America's youth are ready to make a difference where it counts."
  • StateDemocracy.com  Information about federal and state legislators and bills, tools for contacting legislators and voicing your opinions, resources and links.
  • State PIRG's Democracy Program  Americans Against Political Corruption website offers media releases, reports, and action alerts on the role of money in politics.
  • Teen Power Politics  A website and a book that encourage young people to use their political and economic power to address the issues affecting them.  Includes references and links.
  • This Calls for Reform!  A comprehensive summary of electoral reform proposals since the 2000 election.
  • U.S. Taxpayers Party  The site of a conservative political party that gives its platform, which includes abolishing the Internal Revenue Service.

  • www.vote-smart.org The Project provides voting records, campaign finance history, campaign issue positions, backgrounds and contact information on candidates and incumbents at the presidential, congressional, gubernatorial and state legislative levels. The Project's researchers (student interns and volunteers of all ages) also compile ballot measures, issue information, and can tell you how and where to register and vote is easily accessed over our web site and Hotline.

  • Virginia Public Access Project  Is a non-partisan, non-profit group that demonstrates how information technology can improve public awareness of money's role in Virginia politics.
