Presidential Elections: Iowa Votes and New Jersey Joins National Popular Vote Movement

Even as Iowans convened for the first presidential nomination contest of the 2008 presidential elections, the state of New Jersey took a big step toward joining Maryland in the National Popular Vote compact. The New Jersey state senate handily passed the plan, following a successful vote in its state assembly. Gov. Jon Corzine is expected to sign the bill.

Iowa's contest launches a presidential nomination season that FairVote and many others believe should -- and easily could -- be reformed. See our FixThePrimaries.com website.
