Same Day Voter Registration Act of 2005
On February 1st, Representative Martin Sabo introduced the Same Day
Voter Registration Act of 2005. This act requires that all states allow
for same day voter registration. In the 1996 and 2000 presidential
election, the six same day registration states had a voter turnout of
61% compared to 51% turnout for the other 44 states. Passing this bill
will significantly increase voter participation in American democracy.Read H.R. 496
