Monopoly Politics Mississippi 2000
5 seats: 2R, 3D R 55 ![]()
Ronnie Shows' victory in a Republican-leaning seat race was surprising in a state where in 1996 the projected Republican performance rose in all districts. Thanks to Shows' win and Gene Taylor's success in his heavily Republican district, Democrats have a majority of seats, but may be hard-pressed to keep it. (NOTE: Mike Parker changed parties in 1995 in the 4thdistrict.)
