Clinton easily won his home state in the 1996 presidential race, but
ran more poorly relative to his national performance than in 1992; that
year, Arkansas was the only state to give Clinton a popular majority.
Despite his recent easy wins, Jay Dickey cannot relax -- he is the
nation's only Republican in a district where Democrats are projected to
win at least 59% (although that projection is inflated due to Clinton's
home-state advantage). Asa Hutchinson once again has drawn no
Democratic opposition.
