2004 Election Problems: Kansas

-In Clay county a machine broke down and stopped accepting ballots.  Voters were told to give their ballots to the pollworkers, who would scan them into the machine when it was fixed.  Voters were concerned that votes were lost when the machine broke.

-In Johnson County voters pushed Kerry/Edwards and the machine selected Bush/Cheney

-There were numerous cases of confusion involving registration.  Voter's had sent in registration forms and were told on election day that they were not registered and would have to cast provisional ballots.

-There were also cases in which voters had been registered and voting for years and were suddenly not on the voter rolls.
