Illinois Voter Registration changes for College Students

H.B. 715, introduced by Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia, passed both houses of the Illinois Legislature on May 17thand is being sent to the Governor who will then have 60 days to sign it into law. This bill requires each public institution of higher learning in Illinois to make voter registration forms available on its web site, include a voter registration form in any mailing of student registration materials and provide a voter registration form to each student with whom it conducts in-person registration.Read H.B. 715.
