John Anderson to Visit Pierce Co. in Support of Amendment 3

Tacoma, WA -- 1980 Independent Presidential candidate and former 10-term Congressman John Anderson is appearing in Pierce County October 5th-7th to support Charter Amendment 3 and Instant Runoff Voting (IRV). He will be holding a press conference to discuss the benefits of Amendment 3 on Friday, October 6th at 10:30 am at the office of Citizens for a Better Ballot at 1119 Pacific Ave. #1103 in Tacoma. Mr. Anderson is a longtime champion of better elections and currently serves as Chairman of FairVote, a national leader in IRV education and advocacy. He is a frequent commentator on election reform issues and has recently appeared on NPR, C-SPAN and in the New York Times.

Mr. Anderson's visit is just another sign of momentum building around Amendment 3. This effort to replace the pick-a-party primary with Instant Runoff Voting has received positive coverage in the media both in Pierce County and around the state. The League of Women Voters of Washington recently voted to endorse Amendment 3.
