Please join FairVote's new board chair Krist Novoselic, FairVote executive director Rob Richie, and former senate majority leader Bill Finkbeiner to hear how Washington State holds the promise to lead the nation in winning transformative electoral reforms including a historic opportunity to win ranked choice voting for all state elections. They will detail how:

  • Senators John McCain and Barack Obama both are active backers of ranked choice voting (aka instant runoff voting)
  • Pierce Countys Ranked Choice voting election this fall provides a model for King County and our state. Ranked Choice directly addresses a problem in Washington: what to do for voters hungry for the open choices they had in the old blanket primary system.
  • We ask you to suggest others who should be invited for what promises to be an historic discussion about the future of our politics and our democracy. Because space is limited, we urge you not to wait until March 18 to let us know youre coming!
What is FairVote: An innovative catalyst for change operating for many years as the Center for Voting and Democracy, FairVote (www.fairvote.org) is dedicated to fundamental reforms to ensure all citizens have equal access to the polls, a voice in campaigns and representation in government. It has developed viable strategies to win each of its central reform proposals: ranked choice voting, proportional representation, universal voter registration and a national popular vote for president.
