Monopoly Politics Michigan 2000

16 seats: 6R, 10D    D 53

Even though most Michigan seats could be competitive, in 1996 Debbie Stabenow was the first Michigan challenger since 1984 to defeat a House incumbent in a general election. Despite several well-financed challenges, incumbents held on in 1998, and likely will do so in 2000. Several seats would be competitive if open, as is true of Stabenow's 8th district.
