IRV in Hawaii
The campaign for IRV in Hawaii is alive and well!  Recently, FairVote's own David Moon weighed in on the IRV debate to the Honolulu Charter Review Commission.  This commission is examining the possibility of adopting IRV for the county's elections.  Below are links to the testimony of Mr. Moon and the relevant documents that are referenced.

  • HB 926  Requires central committee of party of person to be replaced to submit to governor three nominees to fill vacancy and governor appoints replacement from those nominees. Establishes notice requirements; provides that special election to fill house vacancy shall use instant runoff voting system; directs chief election officer to develop an instant runoff voting system.
