Rebecca Blumenshine hails from Minneapolis, MN, land of innovative electoral politics. Prior to working at FairVote, Rebecca lived in Beijing, China. There she studied Mandarin and ran the English program at Der Kindergaten in Peking--a German-Chinese preschool. She has also worked extensively in the area of independent community radio as a DJ and administrator at KFAI in Minneapolis, MN and WESU in Middletown, CT. Throughout her life, Rebecca has been involved in a variety of social justice organizing activities. Rebecca has a BA in Sociology from Wesleyan University. She has traveled extensively and speaks Spanish, German and some Chinese. Her work at FairVote is grounded by a firm belief that more and new voices in American government are long overdue.
