Get Involved - 4 Easy Ways to Bring IRV to Oakland

  • 1. Spread the word. Tell your friends, family, and coworkers about IRV. When people understand how IRV works, they tend to support it; when they have never had the system explained to them, they tend to be against it. Other effective means are to get organizations you are a part of to support IRV, or write letters to the editor to local papers and newsletters.

You can download our flyer, or generic IRV flyers from FairVote for printing in black and white or color.

  • 2. Show your support with a "Yes on O" lawn or window sign. Please call 510-355-0340 or email signs@OaklandIRV.org to request that a lawn or window sign be delivered. Let us know whether you want a lawn sign or a window sign, and, if you are getting a lawn sign, whether we can just put up in your yard or there is somewhere special to leave it.

  • 3. Donate money to the campaign! This is really critical. Oakland IRV is a true grassroots effort, with no paid employees. Now that IRV is on the ballot, any money you can give, from $25 to $250 (or more!), will greatly help us get out our message.

  • 4. Volunteer your time. There are many ways you can help, from fundraising, to phone banking, or to precinct-walking.

Contact Oakland IRV and we will help find a volunteer job right for you.

  • If you have additional questions or comments, please send them to: info@OaklandIRV.org.
