This bill makes it a felony for any person who distributes, produces, sponsors, or finances any false or misleading information about a candidate or time and place of an election.

This bill makes it a class D felony for knowingly or intentionally deceiving another person regarding the date, time, place of an election or the qualifications for a voter's eligibility.

Maryland: HB 565
Sponsor: Delegate Rosenberg
This bill prevents media sources, including the Internet, television, and radio from intimidating and blocking information from citizens relating to election information and news.
Status: Held in House Ways and Means Committee.
