Idaho - Overview
Idaho has two congressional districts that held primary elections on
Tuesday May 23rd. The result of these elections displayed two
divergent issues that are a symptom of the national phenomenon.
The 1st Congressional district had six candidates running in the
Republican primary, resulting in a winner who had far less than the
majority of the votes. The 2nd district had the exact opposite
problem as only one candidate ran in both the Republican and Democratic
primaries. The only problem the two districts share was the poor
voter turnout a problem that has plagued Idaho for years.
