Regarding the implementation of Choice Voting

WHEREAS one of the primary objectives of Associated Students’ Government is to increase access to higher education

WHEREAS students vote to elect their representatives in the campus community

WHEREAS students should have the option to choose the system of voting used to elect their representatives in the larger campus community

WHEREAS the system of Plurality Voting allows a representative to be elected by a minority of votes

BE IT RESOLVED that the Elections Committee strongly encourages the Senate to approve a constitutional amendment allowing students the option of Choice Voting as an alternative to the current system of Plurality Voting.
