Erik Connell - Democracy Fellow
Erik ConnellErik is a Democracy Fellow at FairVote.  His main focus is instant runoff voting.

Erik graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Government from the University of Puget Sound.  He also minored in Philosophy.  While there, he did an independent study on contemporary issues in election reform entitled Strengthening American Democracy: Instant Runoff Voting, Clean Elections, and Proportional Representation and won the award for best thesis in Comparative Politics with his essay Giving the People What They Want: The Connection Between Proportional Representation, Social Democracy, and Public Satisfaction.  He volunteered for the successful Yes on Three campaign to bring instant runoff voting to Pierce County, WA.

Erik has also been a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland, volunteer for Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, Field Manager and Canvasser for the Human Rights Campaign, Sierra Club, and WashPIRG, and has a third degree black belt in tae kwon do.
