Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Fannie Lou Hamer’s 

pro-democracy campaign at the 1964 Democratic Convention 

with an inspiring, informative afternoon on the case for an 

affirmative right to vote in the U.S. Constitution.  

Featured speakers and grassroots reformers working for 

change on the ground will address such issues as:  

 

  • H.J. Res. 28, the constitutional amendment for a right to vote

  • Avoiding versions of Florida’s election count and voter registration debacle in future elections 

  • Election day registration, immigrant voting, ex-felon voting rights, D.C. vote

  • Enhancing the power of the vote by reforming  winner-take-all elections
