The 100% Registration Project
100% RegistrationThe goal of the 100% Registration Project is to modernize the U.S. voter registration system so the government shares responsibility for registration with its citizens to ensure full and accurate voter rolls. Complete registration will significantly reduce duplications and omissions in the voter rolls and help create a system that balances the twin goals of election accessibility and security.

The first major proposal in this project is a high school voter registration program that seeks to register all students before they leave high school and educate them on the voting process in their community. High school registration will not only lead to fuller and more accurate voter rolls, but also has the potential to increase youth political participation. We are working with local governments and schools to implement this project.

With this program, young people will leave high school knowing how to vote, understanding why voting matters, and with their names on the voter rolls. There is strong evidence that direct experience with the mechanics of voting boosts turnout among first-time eligible voters.
