Felons: The State of California prohibits felons currently in prison or on parole from voting. Once an individual has completed their sentence, their right to vote is automatically restored.

ID Laws:
Bank statement; Government check; Government paycheck; Document issued by a governmental agency; Sample ballot; Voter notification card; Public housing ID card; Lease or rental statement or agreement; Student ID card; Tuition statement or bill; Insurance plan card; Discharge certificates, pardons, or other official documents issued to the voter in connection with the resolution of a criminal case, indictment, sentence, or other matter; Senior citizen discount cards issued by public transportation authorities; ID documents issued by government disability agencies; ID documents issued by government homeless shelters and other temporary or transitional facilities; Drug prescription provided by a doctor or other health care provider; Tax return; Property tax statement; Vehicle registration or certificate of ownership; any other document specified in writing by the Secretary of State that includes the name and address of the individual presenting it, and is dated since the date of the last general election.  Any doubts regarding the sufficiency of identification presented shall be resolved in favor of the voter.
